Bathroom Remodeling Trends: Splashes of Color

Bathroom Remodeling Trends: Splashes of Color

While greys and monotone pallets can be very calming, the idea of adding splashes of color to a neutral room has become more popular in recent years.  Adding a splash of color refreshes and brightens a room.  Fortunately, incorporating splashes of color into your existing bathroom or a new bathroom remodel is easy.  Select a bright tone that you love and incorporate it into features that will make an impact.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Accessories like towels, bath mats, tissue boxes
  • Wall feature like a band of tile, special backsplash, or piece of art
  • Window feature such as color coordinating blinds, shades, or other window covering – or go bold with some stained glass!

Bathroom Remodel #1: In the opulent remodel below, the homeowners added a pop of red through towels, flowers, and other decorations.  The red not only adds color variety, bu also pulls together the warm dark tones of the wood and the gold tones of the light fixtures.

Bathroom Remodel #2: This simple shower remodel received a pop of color through a stripe of decorative tile. The aqua diamond tile matches the color of the paint in the room, so it helps make the room feel more cohesive.

Bathroom Remodel #3: In this bathroom remodel, the custom tile backsplash adds a pop of color in the rope tile.  This little detail draws the eye and makes the space look larger.  The backsplash is repeated around the soaking tub (as seen in the mirror reflection).

Example #4:  This homeowner creatively uses her jewelry as a display to add a pop of color against the pale seafoam wall color.
